This review is likely to be pretty short, but it features another special set. The London Bus is a UK exclusive kit that was originally released as a promotion alongside the hugely impressive LEGO Big Ben. Now, it’s available to purchase only in the UK stores. I was lucky enough to snag mine when I checked out London’s new Leicester Square store back in January.
There isn’t an awful lot to really talk about with this kit, as all it includes are the pieces required to make the bus. There are no minifigures included, and the finer details are all provided by use of stickers.
Here’s a closer look at what came in the box:
The London Bus actually lulled me into a false sense of security, as it was much trickier to build than I initially expected. The pieces are all very small and most are either red or transparent, making it surprisingly hard to pick out all the pieces that I required.
The finished product looks pretty good. It’s only interactive feature is the moving wheels, but its sturdy enough to place with and surprisingly heavy. If you’re buying this as a toy, you should probably note that it’s not to scale with minifigures as most of the other vehicles are, so it only really functions as a toy car. One feature that I especially like are the adverts up the side – you may recognise “The Brick Separator” as one of the films that was showing at the Palace Cinema in last week’s review!
Anyhow, that’s about it for this review as there aren’t any other accessories to note. The kit is a simple yet accurate recreation of a London Bus that makes a cute addition to any desk, yet there isn’t anything really special about it apart from its rarity. If you happen to find yourself in London, be sure to snap yourself one up before they disappear.
