Lance’s Mecha Horse

Suggested Age: 6-12
Pieces: 237
Casual Build Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Dimensions: Mecha Horse – over 5″ x 9″ x 4″ / Turbo Jouster – over 3″ x 9″ x 4″
Brand: Nexo Knights

While I’ve never been tempted by the Nexo Knights series before, I thought I’d give one a try when I heard that some were going to be discontinued soon. Due to its unique appearance and reasonable sale price, I decided to make my first kit from this series the rather nifty Mecha Horse.

The kit comes with all the pieces required to make a Mecha Horse with the ability to transform into a two-wheeled Turbo Jouster. In both forms, it boasts firing flick missiles and Lance’s detachable Nexo lance and shield. The kit also comes with three minifigures – Lance Richmond, Lance Bot and a Flame Thrower – as well as a spear and a crossbow.

Here are some pictures of what came in the box and the building process:

Pieces: 97
Casual Build Time: 20 minutes
Dimensions: Jet Flier – over 1″ x 4″ x 4″

Sorry for the state of the box in these pictures. I didn’t actually buy this kit for myself. I actually ordered it as a Christmas present for someone else but it came in such a state I couldn’t gift it. So, bonus for you all, I guess!

The kit contains all the pieces required to make a SHIELD Jet Flier. In addition to this, it comes with three minifigures (Spider-Man, Carnage and a SHIELD Agent), two pairs of handcuffs and a gun. Here are a couple more photos to show exactly what came inside the box:

Garbage Truck

Suggested Age: 5-12
Pieces: 248
Casual Build Time: 50 minutes
Dimensions: Garbage Truck (with lift down) – over 3″ x 7″ x 3″
Brand: LEGO City

As you may have gathered over the last year, my favourite LEGO kits are the ones with wheels. I love piecing together LEGO cars – even in the Speed Champion range with their millions of stickers. When I first saw the Garbage Truck in Sainsbury’s, I knew I had to add it to my collection. Especially as most of my LEGO City kits to date have been taken from the Deep Sea range.

This kit contains all of the pieces required to make the Garbage Truck, as well as a green recycling container, a shovel, a broom and a selection of “rubbish” items (including studs, fish, a bottle and a banana). It also comes with two minifigures – the driver and his helper.
