When Nick and I first considered this blog, we decided to splash out a little on our first kit so that we could start out with something really impressive. We’ve been eyeing up the Imperial Shuttle Tydirium kit for some time and didn’t need any further excuse to pick one up.

The Imperial Shuttle is one of the most recognisable of the spaceships from the original Star Wars trilogy, most notably appearing in Return of the Jedi from which this kit is based. The kit boasts five minifigs, two spring-loaded missile launchers, movable wings and landing gear, an opening cockpit and a secret access hatch in the base.

Hello everyone!

Before I begin posting, I thought I’d tell you a little about me and my blog.

My name’s Kim and I’ve been blogging for over two years now at Arkham Reviews, a site which reviews young adult novels of all genres. I decided to start this blog to talk about one of my other interests – Lego.

I’m the kind of person who gets stressed very easily and I find that making things helps to ease that. Jigsaws and craft kits help a lot but my favourite go-to stress relief is Lego. There’s just something inherently relaxing about snapping together those little pieces of plastic and seeing them come together to form something bigger. I thought I’d share these with you and let you know a bit about how I enjoyed making them.

This blog isn’t going to be updated that often. I don’t have a lot of money and usually only buy one Lego kit per month, ranging in size depending on how much disposable income I have. Some months I might look at one moderately priced kit. Others I might only be able to afford one or two small ones. I’ll take pictures while I build them and post briefly to tell you what I think of the kit over all.

I’m happy to build any sort of Lego kit but my favourites are the Star Wars kits (I like spaceships). My ambition is the build the Jawa Sandcrawler but it’s unlikely ever happen unless I win the lottery! You can recommend kits to me if you’d like but, unless you’re offering to send them to me, I’m more likely to do my own thing. This is a therapeutic site for me after all!

Anyhow, the first proper post will be up very soon. Looking forward to sharing the joy of Lego with you!
